Martin Busker

Martin Busker (born January 10, 1980 in Emden ) is a German screenwriter and film director .

Martin Busker gained his first experience with the medium of film as a teenager. After high school and community service in Emden, he completed a three-year professional training course as a media designer for image and sound in Cologne . In 2003, Martin Busker received a scholarship from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for talented students and completed training as an assistant director . He then worked for various film productions in Cologne and Berlin , including Rosa von Praunheim . Martin Busker worked on his documentary Men, Heroes, Gay Nazis .

From 2004 to 2011 he studied film directing with a focus on scenic film at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy . His short film Höllenritt , made there, celebrated its festival premiere at the 2009 Berlinale . For his diploma film Halbe Portionen , Martin Busker was awarded the Max Ophüls Prize (medium length films), the Golden Spatz , and the Prix ​​Jeunesse in two categories in 2011 . In addition, his two student film productions, Herzhaft and Höllenritt, received the rating of valuable .

Martin Busker made his cinema debut in 2018 with Zoros Solo . He wrote the script together with scriptwriter Fabian Hebestreit. The tragic comedy with Mert Dincer and Andrea Sawatzki was created as part of the SWR Debut in the Third and was released in German cinemas on October 17, 2019.
