Jürgen Schuster is a German film producer .

Life

Jürgen Schuster studied economics and business administration at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen from 1983 to 1988 .

From 1988 to 1993 Schuster initially worked for Süddeutscher Rundfunk (SDR) in Stuttgart, initially as a consultant in the directorship, then as head of television programming. 1993 obtained his doctorate in Tübingen as Dr. rer. pole. on strategic management of public television companies . At the end of 1993 he switched to RTL Television and built up the production management department there. In 1999 he went to UFA Film & TV Produktion , where he was managing director of various UFA companies in the following years. From 1999 to 2012 he was managing director and producer at the UFA subsidiary teamWorx Television & Film GmbH, which he managed together with Nico Hofmann . There he was responsible for productions such as Die Flucht , Mogadischu , Hindenburg and the three-part series Our Mothers, Our Fathers .

At the same time, he was also the managing director of Berlin-based Phoenix Film and, from 2008, a member of the management of the newly founded UFA Cinema GmbH, for which he produced films such as Dschungelkind , the Hanni & Nanni films, Teufelskicker and We wanted to go to the sea .

In 2013 he left UFA and moved to Zeitsprung Pictures GmbH in Cologne as partner and managing director. Two years later he became managing partner of Dreamtool Entertainment GmbH in Munich. Since 2017 he has been Head of Fiction and Producer at Fandango Film TV Produktion GmbH in Cologne.

Jürgen Schuster is a member of the German Film Academy .
