Hanni & Nanni 2 is the continuation of the German Youth Film - Comedy Hanni & Nanni in 2010 and is based as well as those on Enid Blyton's known children's book series Hanni and Nanni .

The new school year for Hanni and Nanni at the Lindenhof boarding school has it all: Their cousin Elisabeth (usually called Lilly) is now also at boarding school and one of the three new students is said to be a princess. Mademoiselle Bertoux, on the other hand, is happy to see her nephew Philippe visiting. As was to be expected, the pretty Frenchman mixes up the girls' boarding school. And then things get really adventurous: The princess is to be kidnapped. Nevertheless, the identity of the princess remains undetected for a long time. When the secret is revealed after exciting fencing matches, a huge chaos in the castle and the separation of the twins' parents, the kidnappers are already on the trail of the protagonists and the princess. But even before they can do anything, Wilma alias Frau Goethe, who until then had pretended to be a German teacher, and her accomplice Roland, have already set their sights on Nanni. Finally there is an exciting finale in which Georg and Jule Sullivan, Hanni and Nanni's parents, get closer again.

“Very loosely based on Enid Blyton's classic girl's book series about the boarding school adventures of two twins, a sequel film. Once again, Hanni and Nanni have to come to terms with "newcomers" to the boarding school and solve a wide variety of problems and conflicts, especially their parents' marital crisis. Far away from the reality of adolescents, the film depicts a world of wellbeing in which all difficulties dissolve in harmony and casting show phrases alternate with harmless slapstick numbers. While the secondary characters are reduced to their quirks and ticks, the main characters remain colorless and contourless. "
