Hanni & Nanni 3 is the successor to the movies Hanni & Nanni and Hanni & Nanni 2 . It is based on Enid Blyton's series of children's books Hanni and Nanni .

The end of the school year is getting closer and closer. The girls rehearse diligently for the play that is to be played for their parents: Romeo and Juliet . After a casting, Mademoiselle Bertoux decides on Nanni as Julia, but the teacher thinks it's Hanni. However, Nanni does not want to accept the role.

Girls from England should also play in the play. Due to a misunderstanding, Mister Gordon and his boys' class arrive at Lindenhof Palace. Hanni soon falls in love with Clyde, one of these boys. Daniela also wants to flirt with him, which leads to an argument with Hanni. Clyde only thinks Hanni is great, but doesn't know that she has a twin sister. And so he always thinks when he meets Nanni that it is Hanni. This leads to the fact that Nanni also falls in love with Clyde, who finds out after a while that he is dealing with twin sisters.

Meanwhile, Hanni also knows that Nanni is also in love with Clyde. The twins then have a heated argument. Meanwhile, an old school friend of the director Theobald's, Professor Kästner, turns up at the boarding school. Both have always secretly loved each other. It will also be special between Ms. Mägerlein and Mister Gordon.

Just in time for the performance of “Romeo and Juliet”, all disputes are settled. However, the performance will not be as Mademoiselle Bertoux expected. The girls and boys turn the love drama into a dance show in which Hanni, Nanni and Daniela, who have since become friends, play the leading role.
