Leonore "Leo" Julia Roberta Bartsch (born September 14, 1988 in Göttingen ) is a German pop singer and songwriter . From 2008 to 2012 she was a member of the pop group Queensberry . In 2014 she was part of the duo Resaid . Since 2019 she has been publishing music under her full first name Leonore .

biography

Bartsch grew up with her two years older sister in Bernshausen, Lower Saxony . Bartsch received dance and violin lessons for the first time at the age of four. At the age of twelve she received singing lessons.

Bartsch discovered her enthusiasm for hip-hop dance during a school year abroad in London . In 2005 she won the North German Hip-Hop Championship with her formation. She took part in the fifth season of Popstars in 2006 and was eliminated in the semifinals. After graduating from the Felix-Klein-Gymnasium Göttingen in 2007, which she passed with an average of 1.2, Bartsch moved to Cologne to start as a solo singer. On the CD Pop Meets Classic 2007 released in June 2007, she is represented by the titles Sway by Dean Martin and I Wanna Be Loved by You by Marilyn Monroe .

In November 2007 she got a recording contract with X-Cell Records with her band Leo Leo Leo . However, the band lost the record contract without a release in June 2008 because the desired media cooperation partners failed to materialize.

Queensberry

In the same year Bartsch took part in the seventh season of Popstars and was voted into the band by the jury in the program broadcast on November 20, 2008.

In the films Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 and Alvin and the Chipmunks 3: Chipbruch , she lent her voice to the chipmunk Jeannette.

For the third Queensberry album Chapter 3 Bartsch wrote the song California Kissin .

In the summer of 2012, Bartsch left the band after four years due to disagreements with management.

Resaid

In 2014 she formed the duo Resaid together with Tamara "Tamy" Ruprecht . The music video for Toca's Miracle , a cover version of Fragma, was shot in Verona at the beginning of May . The album Acoustic Adventures , which contains cover versions of dance hits from the 1990s and 2000s in a new, acoustic guise, followed on August 1, 2014 and reached number 14 in the German album charts.

Solo career

As a songwriter, Bartsch wrote the title Show yourself for the singer LaFee . In addition, in 2012 Bartsch contributed the songs she sang and written Neu und Sommertag on the soundtrack to Hanni & Nanni 2 . For the sequel Hanni & Nanni 3 , Bartsch sang the title track Sisters Forever and wrote the title When The World Explodes , which is sung by the leading actresses Sophia and Jana Münster .

Together with Dennis Krüger from 4Lyn , Bartsch founded the Léo Noire project in 2012 , which includes acoustic cover versions of songs and the like. a. performed by Rihanna and Kings of Leon . Bartsch also worked as a dance trainer and began studying German literature and media studies in Berlin in 2013.

In January 2014 she was Gabriella De Almeida Rinne's companion in Australia for the RTL show Ich bin ein Star - Get me out of here! .

Together with Chris Thompson , Bartsch released the title song I Look at You for the ARD feature film “ Der Kotzbrocken ” in February 2015 .
