Fragma is a German dance music project consisting of Marco and Dirk Duderstadt, Ramon Zenker and Jörn Friese. They were successful across Europe in the early 2000s, particularly in Great Britain and Ireland, and also achieved chart successes in the USA and Australia. To date, they have sold more than two million records worldwide. They are best known for their single Toca's Miracle , which has been re-recorded or remixed numerous times .
history
The project was founded in 1998 by the brothers Marco and Dirk Duderstadt, who also founded the trance project Duderstadt , the producer Ramon Zenker , the songwriter Jörn Friese and the German singer Damae in Cologne .
Fragma's first single, Toca Me , reached number 11 on the UK charts in 1999. In 2000 a new single was released, in which the instrumental of Toca Me was mixed with the vocals of the song I Need a Miracle by singer Coco Star . This is how Toca's Miracle came about . This song placed first on the British , Irish and Australian charts. Fragma achieved their first big success in Germany with the song Everytime You Need Me with the singer Maria Rubia . The first single with Damae , You Are Alive , was also a top 5 hit in the UK charts.
Fragma is derived from the planned language Glosa and means "subdivision" or "fence". The first album Toca is also derived from Glosa and means "to touch". While various singers (Coco, Maria Rubia, Eva Martinez and Damae) lent their voice to the songs at the beginning of the project and on the album Toca , Damae became the permanent singer of Fragma in 2002. After the release of the second album Embrace , from which four singles were released, but they were no longer so successful, it was initially quiet about Fragma. From 2006 only sporadic single releases followed. In 2008 they were able to reach the charts in some countries again with a remix of Toca's Miracle under the name Toca's Miracle in 2008 .
On September 1, 2012 Fragma separated from singer Damae, with whom they released the new single Thousand Times and held concerts in the same year . In October of the same year the band announced with the words “ brand new fragma! brand new singer! brand new style! brand new album! ”A new style, a new singer and for the first time since 2002 a new album. In fact, no new album was released and the group remained inactive for the time being.
Since 2017 they have a new singer named Tess, with whom they have since performed as Fragma feat. Tess will be giving concerts again.
