4Lyn , formerly known as Headtrip , was a crossover band from Hamburg that was founded in 1995 and disbanded in 2013.

The names

When it turned out in 2000 that the band Headtrip was about to get a record deal, the members quickly realized that the name was used too often in the scene and so they looked for a new pseudonym . According to the DVD (The Good Life Period) released in 2008, the band name was created by reading backwards the label on a cigarette packet that read " NIL ". The letters were quickly changed a little and from now on meant “Little - Young - Nasties”, but according to the band, they can also be replaced with all other words that begin with these three letters. The 4 stands for the number of musicians.

history

Before joining 4Lyn, everyone was already involved in various musical groups. They were in the field of rock , (such as Chinos band "Das Inferno"), crossovers, Nu Metals and also hip-hop (Brazs band Culture or Prison).

The band Headtrip was founded in 1995, but due to the constant change of members, singer Braz (Ron Cazzato) is the only one of the original line-up who is still part of today's band 4Lyn. Big Deee (Björn Düssler) used to be the band's demo producer and joined when the old bass player left. After the previous drummer left, the band came to Chi (Sascha Carillho) by a lucky coincidence.

In 2001 the then guitarist Kane Wikked (Ben Eckebrecht) had to leave the band for various reasons. The drummer Chino quickly organized his long-term friend René Knupper (Russo) for the band. Initially, it was only intended as a replacement for Wikked, as all pieces for an appearance on RTL's Top of the Pops had to be prepared within four days . But after the former guitarist's complete cancellation, Russo became an integral part of the band.

From 2005 4Lyn support the American football team Hamburg Sea Devils with their song Go, Sea Devils .

After the release of the long player Hello in January 2008 and the subsequent tour, which had to be postponed due to an illness René, he left the band in May. Dennis Krüger joined the band for him.

During the tour, 4Lyn will release the DVD Good Life Period on the occasion of their 10th anniversary . In addition to the music, all band members play in the film Check It Out .

The band has rarely been on the road in the last few years, which can be traced back to the three years of difficulties and the subsequent separation from their management.

Four years after their last album, 4Lyn released their album Quasar in May 2012 and then went on tour in Germany. In March 2013, the band announced their breakup, so that the members can devote more time to family, leisure and other projects. The last concert took place on December 21, 2013 in Hamburg's Grünspan.
