Motor Music

Motor Music is a German recording company . In addition to its activity as a music label , Motor Music also acts as a management and publisher .

history

A predecessor company of the same name was founded in 1994 by Tim Renner as a subsidiary of Polygram , which became part of the Universal group in 1998 . Tim Renner became head of Universal Music in Germany, but continued to head Motor Music. Motor Music published artists such as Rammstein and Element of Crime until 2004 .

With the reorganization of the pop business within Universal Music, Tim Renner decided in 2004 to step down from his position within the German branch of Universal. He separated from Universal, also re-founded Motor Music outside of Universal, and from then on worked on building new artists. In addition, the radio station Motor FM was founded, which began regular broadcasting in February 2005. The initially almost advertising and news-free program focuses on alternative and German-language music. In addition to the terrestrial broadcast, it can also be heard live via the Internet. New forms of music marketing should be tried out via the radio station.

Parallel to Motor FM, the broadcasting of Motor TV began in September 2006 , a television program distributed via IPTV and DVB-T with a program focus similar to that of the radio station. Both Motor FM and Motor TV have now ceased broadcasting. In 2011, Motor FM developed into the Flux FM transmitter .

Motor Music and Motor Entertainment have existed as a label service "Rent A Recordcompany" since 2009. The artists keep their rights and pay for Motor's label service with a share of the project proceeds. These artists have released albums at Motor Music, among others: Westernhagen , Selig , Max Giesinger , Thorsten Willer , Moneybrother , The bianca Story , NESSI , Emigrate , Jan Blomqvist , Alice Phoebe Lou , PeterLicht , Super700 , Phillip Boa & The Voodoo Club .

Motor Entertainment also has a management team, the “Motor Songs” publishing company and the online magazine motor.de.
