Emigrate is a multinational metal band founded by German guitarist Richard Kruspe , co-founder of Rammstein .

Band history

Emigrate started as a side project of Kruspes in 2005, while Rammstein took a break of several years. On September 5, 2006, recipients of the Rammstein.de newsletter were sent an invitation to the Emigrate newsletter, giving them the opportunity to download the song Wake Up . Other song clips were later made available for free download on the Emigrate website: My World , Babe, and Temptation . In a poll it turned out that Babe was considered the best song by many fans. Since November 29, 2006, recipients of the Emigrate newsletter have been able to download Babe in full, and My World followed on May 21, 2007 .

On August 31, 2007, the self-titled debut album Emigrate was released . The piece My World is on the soundtrack to Resident Evil: Extinction represented. Videos have been released for the pieces New York City and My World . The title Help Me is not offered on iTunes or Spotify .

At the beginning of November 2014, also during a break from Rammstein, the second album, Silent So Long, was released . Many guest singers can be heard on the eleven new tracks on the album, including other Lemmy Kilmister , Marilyn Manson and Jonathan Davis . The first single from the album was called Eat you Alive and was released in late October 2014; Seeed- Frontmann Dellé is the guest performer in the song and in the music video . In addition to the version known from the album, the single also featured a Hounds remix by Eat You Alive .

In an interview with Krone.at in November 2014, Kruspe announced that a third album was almost finished and should be finalized in 2015. In a Facebook post on the official Emigrate website, Kruspe specified this information in February 2015. Accordingly, the album will be completed in March, mixed in April and should be released in September 2015. However, this was further delayed.

In an interview with Metal Hammer magazine in June 2017, Kruspe said that the third Emigrate album had already been finished two and a half years ago. Since then, he has been waiting for the right time for a publication, but now sees a great need for action.

On July 26, 2018, Emigrate's Facebook page published a call for applications as an extra for the video shoot, which was planned a week later, together with Benjamin Kowalewicz and Ian D'Sa from Billy Talent .

On October 19, 2018 Kruspe released the first single 1234 from the third Emigrate album A Million Degrees . He announced the album for November 30, 2018. The Canadian Billy Talent singer Benjamin Kowalewicz takes on the lead vocals at 1234 . The album was produced by Sky van Hoff .
