List of radio stations

Flux FM is a German private radio that can be received via live stream over the Internet and in Berlin via VHF ("FM"). Flux FM could also be received terrestrially in Bremen and Stuttgart . VHF broadcasting was discontinued in Bremen in February 2015 and in Stuttgart on January 1, 2016. There were independent regional programs in German for the broadcasting locations.

The station previously operated under the name Motor FM . On August 23, 2011, as a result of a shareholder dispute, the name was changed to FluxFM, a brand that until then had only been used by Motor FM for temporary event programs. Tim Renner , former partner, now owns the naming rights of Motor FM.

operator

Flux FM is operated by the platform for regional music industry GmbH, which is owned by m2m Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH . Its owners are the two managing directors Mona Rübsamen and Markus Kühn with 16.05% each as well as the businessman Ernst Udo Grossmann with 22.84%, Burg Schwarzenstein GmbH, which he manages with 13.08%, GVG Verwaltungs-GmbH & Co. KG (with the shareholders Ernst Udo Grossmann, Ursula Grossmann, Nina Grossmann and Nils Grossmann) with 25.00%, as well as the Embassy of Music GmbH with 6.98%.

Program focus

Flux FM specializes in genres such as alternative , independent , punk and electronic music . Artists living in Germany are increasingly playing a role in the station's music program. In the self-portrayal it says: “Indie, electro and pop culture. [...] no small talk, no power play. We inspire people to whom music is important, we take care of ... city life and the world of the Internet ... "

history

Flux FM was founded in 2004 by the ex-MTV manager Rübsamen, Kühn and Tim Renner as a joint venture between m2m and Motor Entertainment under the name Motor FM. In 2007 m2m took over the majority of the station's shares.

In autumn 2004, Motor FM went on air for the first time on the 104.1 MHz frequency, which can only be received in downtown Berlin. After successfully applying for the 106.8 MHz frequency advertised at the beginning of 2005, Motor FM went on the air for five months with a 24-hour program on February 1, 2005, as the children's radio Radio Teddy was not yet ready to broadcast at that time. From July 2005, the broadcasting time was reduced to the officially allocated time frame of 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. For the rest of the time, a program loop ran before Radio Teddy officially began broadcasting on August 6, 2005. During Popkomm 2005, Motor FM also broadcasted from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the 104.1 MHz frequency and could be heard around the clock for a week.

After the bankruptcy of the private broadcaster Hundert, 6 , the Medienanstalt Berlin-Brandenburg rewritten the broadcasting license for this frequency. The winner of the tender was Motor FM together with Netzeitung . On February 1st, 2006 Motor FM went on air around the clock under the name 100,6 Motor FM - now audible throughout Berlin and in parts of Brandenburg.

In Stuttgart, Motor FM has been listening to 97.2 MHz since March 2005, with a local window for Stuttgart in the afternoon / evening until the beginning of 2015.

In June 2007 the sale of the Netzeitung to the Berlin publishing house became known. The Netzeitung radio GmbH sold its shares in the platform for regional music industry sold.

The Medienanstalt Berlin-Brandenburg responded to this new development by announcing that it would have to re-tender the 100.6 MHz frequency. In mid-October 2007, 100.6 Motor FM received another broadcast permit from the media council.

On March 4, 2010, the Bremen State Media Authority awarded the advertised city frequency of 97.2 MHz to the platform for regional music industry. Broadcasting began on March 1, 2011. The frequencies in Wismar (97.0 MHz) and Stralsund (98.9 MHz) originally assigned to Motor FM by the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Media Authority were assigned to the Klassik Radio program in November 2010 . In August 2011 the name Motor FM was changed to Flux FM.

On March 20, 2013, the station was awarded the Echo music prize in the “Media Partner of the Year” category. On April 9, 2014, the station received the International Music Industry Award as radio station of the year at MUSEXPO 2014 .

On December 9, 2014, LfK Flux FM revoked its VHF license in Stuttgart. Shortly thereafter, Flux FM returned its FM license in Bremen and stopped broadcasting there in February 2015.
