Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Media Authority
The Medienanstalt Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (abbreviated MMV ) is one of the 14 state media authorities in the Federal Republic of Germany . The station, which was established in 1991 as the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Broadcasting Center ( LRZ ) on the basis of the State Broadcasting Act (RundfG-MV), is located in Schwerin . Since January 2010, the public law institution has been called Medienanstalt Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Your task is to promote, co-develop and help shape private broadcasting in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is responsible for the approval and control of private radio and television programs as well as media services within the state. Further tasks are the promotion of the media competence of the citizens, the self-determined and responsible use of the media. This includes the operation of open channels and the awarding of the media competence award , with which outstanding achievements by committed adults and children are recognized.
The organs of the media authority are the media committee and the director. The 11 members of the media committee are appointed by various organizations based in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The term of office is five years. The director is responsible for the day-to-day management. Bert Lingnau has been taking on this task since March 2016.
Medienanstalt Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is a member of the working group of the state media authorities ( the media authorities ).
