organization

The LFK is led by a President (currently (2018) Wolfgang Kreißig). The committees of the LFK are the executive board and the media council. The media council is composed of representatives of socially relevant groups. Section 41 (1) of the Baden-Württemberg State Media Act regulates which 29 organizations send representatives to the Media Council.

In the areas of media research and media education , the LFK is working on a number of projects with the State Center for Media and Communication (LMK) from Rhineland-Palatinate and the Südwestrundfunk (SWR). All three institutions are sponsors of the Media Competence Forum Southwest Foundation (MKFS). The Media Education Research Association Southwest (MPFS) is a cooperation between LFK and LMK and publishes, among other things, the JIM, KIM and FIM studies on the media behavior of young people, children and families. The LFK is also represented on the supervisory board of the Baden-Württemberg Media and Film Company and the Baden-Württemberg Pop Academy . In addition, the State Authority has been a member of the New Media clearing office for rural areas since 2006 and acts as a competence center for broadband expansion.
