Regio TV Stuttgart is a regional television broadcaster in the Stuttgart region with headquarters in Stuttgart . The station was called R.TV until the beginning of 2007 and later REGIO TV Regional-Fernsehen. Like Regio TV Schwaben and Regio TV Bodensee, it belongs to Medienhaus Schwäbischer Verlag .

The program is broadcast from three locations in three different versions:
- for the districts of Böblingen , Calw and Freudenstadt
- for Stuttgart and the districts of Esslingen and Göppingen and
- for the districts of Ludwigsburg and Rems-Murr .
The program focuses on news and other reports from the Stuttgart region. The contributions are repeated in the evening, sometimes every half hour, sometimes every hour. In the rest of the time, teleshopping offers are spread among other things . From January 2010 to March 2017, Chris Fleischhauer was the station's program director. Günter Seibold has been the station's editor-in-chief since March 2017.
history
The station was founded in 1995 in the Böblingen district as R.TV and was the first district television station in Baden-Württemberg at the time . Since December 2004, broadcasts have also been in the rest of the Stuttgart region, albeit with a different local version.
In October 2005, the State Office for Communication Baden-Württemberg (LfK) approved the takeover by Medienhaus Schwäbischer Verlag (publisher of the Schwäbische Zeitung ). Between 2006 and 2012 Frank Eckstein was managing director of Regional-Fernsehen Böblingen GmbH & Co. KG and the successor organization Regio TV Stuttgart, followed by Nikolaus Donner in 2013. Ralph van Gülick took over the management in February 2017.
At the beginning of 2007 the station was renamed REGIO TV Regional-Fernsehen. Since January 2008 the Regio TV Group (with REGIO TV Schwaben and REGIO TV Euro 3) has been offering "Internet TV for Baden-Württemberg" in addition to the regular TV program.
In October 2009, the Regio-TV group started broadcasting via satellite . In December of the same year, REGIO TV Regional-Fernsehen relocated its headquarters to Stuttgart - Bad Cannstatt in the " Römerkastell ".
At the beginning of 2011, the group renamed its channels to Regio TV Stuttgart, Regio TV Schwaben and Regio TV Bodensee.

The program is distributed in Stuttgart and the districts of Böblingen , Ludwigsburg , Esslingen , Göppingen , Freudenstadt , Rems-Murr-Kreis , Calw and the northern district of Rottweil via the cable network . In the district of Böblingen , terrestrial broadcasts from Sindelfingen from the chimney of the Daimler cogeneration plant were also carried out until the end of 2006 . Around 2.8 million viewers can receive the Regio TV Stuttgart program via cable and satellite.
The program was initially available on the Internet via live stream and video-on-demand , but in the meantime the broadcaster has switched to offering video-on-demand only. In addition to the entire program, individual contributions can also be accessed.
Since October 2009 the Regio TV program can also be received via satellite. The programs (journals) from Regio TV Stuttgart, Regio TV Schwaben and Regio TV Bodensee are broadcast alternately. The program can be found on ASTRA 1F, 19.2 ° East on transponder 104, vertical polarization, downlink frequency 12480 MHz, symbol rate 27.5 MSps.
