DONAU 3 FM is a local radio station for the cross-border economic area Danube - Iller ( Ulm , Neu-Ulm and the districts of Alb-Donau , Biberach , Neu-Ulm and Günzburg ). 151,000 people in Ulm and the surrounding area already hear the DONAU 3 FM program every day, consisting of music, regional and world news as well as information about traffic, the weather and the surrounding area.
The station, with its headquarters in Ulm and other offices in Biberach , started broadcasting on January 1, 2003, and broadcasts a program in AC format .
Due to the cross-border distribution area in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria , DONAU 3 FM is the only radio station in Germany, like its predecessor Radio Donau 1 , to have both LFK and BLM approval . DONAU 3 FM is a program from MORE Lokalfunk Baden-Württemberg GmbH & Co. KG. The shareholders are Burda Broadcast Media GmbH & Co. KG (50%) and Studio Gong München GmbH & Co. Studiobetriebs KG (50%).
Apart from the two morning show presenters Andi Scheiter and Felix Achberger , the station has about 30 other employees. The target group stated is 29 to 59 year olds.

DONAU 3 FM plays an adult contemporary music format with a focus on the 80s, 90s and 2000s as well as rock and classic rock tracks. Live moderation takes place during the week between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m.
The heart of the station is the good mood morning show, which runs from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., with the two presenters Felix Achberger and Andreas Scheiter . The latter joined the Ulm local broadcaster in 2018 after hosting the morning show on direct competitor Radio 7 for over 14 years .
Daily benchmarks such as the popular “Swabian Quiz”, in which listeners have to guess Swabian terms from the fictional character “Grandma Rosa”, or regular traffic and weather announcements are part of the morning broadcast.
From 10 am Michael Kordick will broadcast the “More Music Work Day”, in which “at work” and regional topics find their place. Since 2019 there has also been a daily "news talk" on the show, in which the regional news situation is discussed with the news editor. This should give the show an even stronger, regional profile.
From 3 to 8 pm , Saskia Ochner and Marcus Oesterle will moderate the "More music after-work" in weekly alternation. Here the focus is on the right music for the evening after work, the traffic situation and (stimulating) topics that are currently occupying the people in the broadcast area.
The “More Music Weekend” is moderated alternately by Wiebke Schröder and Ulli Diehr as well as by colleagues from the weekly program.
The talk show “Sabrina meets ...” with Grimme Prize winner Sabrina Gander will be broadcast on Saturdays from 12 noon to 1 pm . In her program, the presenter speaks to a wide variety of interlocutors such as the neighbor next door, heroes from everyday life, or celebrities.

Since December 1, 2014, Donau 3 FM can also be received in large parts of Baden-Württemberg via DAB + on channel 11B . The program can also be received in many cable networks.
On May 27, 2020, the transmission area was expanded to include the Bavarian channel 8B Allgäu via DAB +.
Regional events
The radio station is also known for its numerous events. Twice a year DONAU 3 FM organizes the largest over 30s party in Swabia in the CCU Ulm. The broadcaster also organizes smaller over 30 parties in Biberach and every other year Oath Monday in Ulm . Also the Forever Young DONAU 3 FM Discofox Party and the DONAU 3 FM Disco Inferno.
