bw family.tv is a private regional television broadcaster for Baden-Württemberg . The station has been on the air since February 15, 2006 and is operated by bw family.tv GmbH & Co. KG , based in Stuttgart . The broadcast processing and the management are in Karlsruhe .

history

On January 27, 2005, the application for approval for the broadcaster bw family.tv was submitted to the responsible state authority for communication in Baden-Württemberg (LfK). The founding shareholders of the broadcaster bw family.tv GmbH were Salo Holding AG, Weber Management GmbH, L-TV GmbH, ERB Medien GmbH , Evangelischer Rundfunkdienst Baden ERB gGmbH, biblical TV managing director Henning Röhl , and big group management GmbH, Com! Media GmbH and EKD Media GmbH.

The approval took place on June 27, 2005 for the period from July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2013. Bw family.tv receives the status of a private nationwide television broadcaster.

Since February 15, 2006, the station has been on the air in the analog and digital cable of the network operator Kabel BW .

In January 2008 the shareholders Salo Holding AG, Weber Management GmbH and Henning Röhl left and sold their shares to the remaining shareholders.

On January 1, 2008, the shares in Evangelischer Rundfunkdienst Baden ERB non-profit GmbH were transferred to the 100% subsidiary ERB Medien GmbH. Also on January 1, 2008, bw family.tv GmbH was transformed into bw family.tv GmbH & Co.KG. The function of general partner was taken over by the newly founded bw family.tv Holding GmbH based in Karlsruhe. In this GmbH there is a shareholder identity with the KG.

As of December 31, 2008, the shareholders ekd media GmbH and com! Media GmbH left the company. The shares were taken over pro rata by the remaining shareholders.

The shareholder structure of bw family.tv GmbH & Co.KG is made up as follows:

  • DFA Regional TV Baden-Württemberg GmbH (37%) (minority shareholder of DFA Regional TV Baden-Württemberg GmbH is Frank Felte with a stake of 49%. The majority shareholder is DFA Regional TV Beteiligungs GmbH, Bonn, (51%) which in turn is fully im All shares in DFA Verwaltungs GmbH, Düsseldorf, are held by Infobonn Holding GmbH, Bonn, in the sole ownership of Helmut Keizer.)
  • Evangelisches Medienhaus GmbH (24%) (Fully owned by the Evangelical Church of Württemberg.)
  • ERB Medien GmbH (20%) (fully owned by the Evangelical Broadcasting Service Baden and thus the Evangelical Regional Church Baden. Managing director Hanno Gerwin.)
  • L-TV GmbH (13.4%)
  • big - Group (5.5%) (A Karlsruhe company group for engineering services, facility management, building services, security, network management, training and further education.)

The production companies belonging to bw family.tv GmbH are responsible for the production, financing and marketing of the program components in mutually independent profit centers. The producer network delivers the content to the broadcasting center based in Karlsruhe.

reception

bw family.tv is broadcast on the digital cable television of the cable network operator Unitymedia Baden-Württemberg. The station can be received at no additional charge. The technical reach is around 4.8 million viewers in Baden-Württemberg. A decision has not yet been made about distribution by satellite . BW Family.tv is not yet broadcast via DVB-T .

According to the Commission for Determining Concentration in the Media Area (KEK), bw family.tv is “a value-oriented full television program from Baden-Württemberg for the whole family”. The focus is on family-related topics such as health, life support, advice and service broadcasts as well as up-to-date information from Baden-Württemberg and Christian broadcast formats.

The typical weekday program structure of bw family.TV saw z. B. in June 2011:

53.13% teleshopping, long-term commercials and apps night (editorial advertising broadcast for iphone / ipad apps), 13.53% news, breakfast TV and commercial event tips, 11.48% boulevard and magazines, 10.42% church programs, 4, 16% Russia Today, 3.12% Talk, 2.08% CallIn life counseling, 2.08% Children's program.

Program principles

The station sees its task in broadcasting serious, service- and value-oriented programs for Baden-Württemberg that cover the entire spectrum of family life. Adult advertising and programs with astrology or fortune telling as content will not be broadcast.
