Henning Röhl

Henning Röhl (born April 20, 1943 in Töstrup ) is a German radio and television journalist and media manager .

Life

Henning Röhl was born as the youngest son of the Protestant pastor and later provost of Eiderstedt Cay-Heinrich Röhl and his wife Betty. After completing school in Flensburg from 1949 to 1962, he studied philosophy , history and German studies in Vienna and Freiburg between 1962 and 1965 . He then completed a one-year traineeship at Südwestfunk in Baden-Baden . In 1967 he became a political journalist at SWF and in 1978 deputy editor- in - chief at SWF radio .

In 1981 he switched to the North German Broadcasting Corporation , where he became director of the NDR regional radio station Schleswig-Holstein in 1983. In 1988 he became editor-in-chief of " ARD-aktuell " ( Tagesschau and Tagesthemen ).

In 1991 he became television director of the newly founded Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk .

In 2001 he built up a television station for the second time, when he was appointed managing director of the newly founded station Bibel TV . In 2007, the members' meeting of Bibel TV extended his contract for another two years. Röhl is also a member of the board of trustees of the evangelical association ProChrist , an organizer of large evangelization events close to the YMCA .

On June 14, 2012 Matthias Brender was unanimously elected as Röhl's successor. Röhl asked not to extend his contract, which expired in January. Brender became the co-managing director of Bible TV in November 2012. On February 1, 2013, this followed Röhl.

Henning Röhl is married and has adult children. He lives with his wife in Osterhever in the North Friesland district .
