Andreas Lando

Andreas Lando (* around 1525 in Spremberg ; † after 1561) was a German church musician and from 1560 to 1561 Kreuzkantor in Dresden .

Little is known about Lando's living conditions. From 1544 he studied theology in Wittenberg . In 1547 he became cantor of the Nikolaischule in Leipzig .

When the position of Kreuzkantor in Dresden became vacant in 1560 after the departure of Johannes Selner , Melanchthon , on whose recommendation the position had always been awarded, sent a Michael Reinhard , whose arrival the city council had already appointed Lando.

Andreas Petermann followed him the next year . Nothing is known about Lando's further life.
