Michael Lohr

Michael Lohr (born September 23, 1591 in Marienberg ; † February 17, 1654 in Dresden ) was a German composer .

First he was cantor in Rochlitz and from 1625 until his death in 1654 Kreuzkantor in Dresden. Lohr's “Newe Teutz Church Chants” and Latin motets have come down to us. The “Gesänge” are remarkable as early figured bass songs .
