Bartholomäus Petermann

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bartholomäus Petermann was Kreuzkantor in Dresden from 1589 to 1606 .

Little is known about Petermann's living conditions. It is uncertain whether he was related to the former Kreuzkantor Andreas Petermann . After he - according to a council protocol - had "unwillingly" fulfilled his teaching obligations or not at all, Christoph Lisberger was placed at his side as a temporary worker during a long illness and appointed as his successor on May 21, 1606.

Petermann composed a Passion Secundum Lucam in 1598 , possibly also a Passion Secundum Johannem listed in the music index of the Kreuzkirche without the composer's name .
