Kreuzkantor
As Kreuzkantor are cantors of the Cross Church in Dresden called. You are employed by the City of Dresden in a special contractual relationship and you lead the Dresden Kreuzchor .
Since the Reformation there have been a total of 27 Kreuzkantors, including such personalities as Gottfried August Homilius (1755–1785), Ernst Julius Otto (1828–1875), Otto Richter (1906–1930) and Rudolf Mauersberger (1930–1971) (in In brackets the length of service).
The first cross cantor after the introduction of the Reformation was Sebaldus Baumann (1540–1553), currently Roderich Kreile (since 1997) is the 28th cross cantor . He is also the first Kreuzkantor who does not come from Saxony.
Matthias Jung , who held the office provisionally from 1994 to 1996, is not considered a (full) Kreuzkantor according to the count of the Kreuzchor.
