Embassy
Joyce Meyer's articles and sermons often include experiences from her own life, such as having been sexually abused as a child. Their main message is that God can change everyone and also heal old injuries. The televised speeches are mostly recorded in large venues in the United States in front of several thousand viewers. The topics are mostly strategies for a happy and God-blessed life, the achievement of spiritual success and personal crisis management. Following these sermons, advertising for aid projects and media will be broadcast by Joyce Meyer.
criticism
Critics accuse Meyer of preaching a gospel of prosperity and of assuming a lavish lifestyle. She is said to have valuable furniture and several villas. Meyer made approximately $ 900,000 a year in 2002 and 2003, and her husband was earning $ 450,000. After criticism, her salary was lowered to $ 250,000. She justifies herself by saying that her wealth is primarily due to her high book sales. In addition, Meyer sees it as proof of her divine mission and blessing.
In 2011 Joyce Meyer found herself exposed to the charge that she and the leading employees of "Joyce Meyer Ministries" were drawing too generous personal benefits from the missionary work. This accusation could be dispelled. The commission of inquiry of the US Senate, created on the initiative of the Republican Senator Chuck Grassley (Iowa), has now presented its final report, in which the Joyce Meyer Ministries is certified "high transparency". Once a year Joyce Meyer Ministries publishes its finances in the "Annual Report".
