history

Established as an internet radio

Radio Aktiv-FM was founded in 2000 by Guido Häußler in Munich as a web radio . The original concept was to reward Internet users for listening to the radio with a flat rate and thereby create a representative range relevant to the advertising market. Among other things, the station was interviewed by NBC GIGA . From 2000 to 2004 the program included the CHR ( Contemporary Hit Radio ) format with the Top40 and Billboard charts. Since 2004, as part of the preparations for commercial operation and the start of broadcasting on conventional transmission channels, the program has been increasingly switched to the techno and dance genre and designed as an alternative to sunshine-live . In January 2006, the Licenza Media GmbH & Co. KG was founded for this purpose, which then submitted a license application to the State Center for Media and Communication (LMK) in January 2006 .

Licensing

On April 25, 2006, the transmitter was approved for the first time nationwide for a period of 10 years based on a resolution by the assembly of April 24, 2006 of the LMK Rhineland-Palatinate. The license holder for the Radio Aktiv-FM program is Licenza Media GmbH & Co. KG. The ownership structure was divided with 45% to Guido Häußler, 45% to Markus Kessel and 10% to Hermann Trapp.

Bavaria On May 19, 2006, the station went on air for the first time on conventional transmission routes in Munich in the Kabel Deutschland cable network on the VHF cable frequency 105.5 MHz (range approx. 630,000 households). From January 19, 2007, reception was also possible in the cable network of the Munich cable network operator KMS (range approx. 180,000 households) and increased the range to a total of approx. 810,000 households. The FM cable frequency 105.5 MHz was also used. The transmitter stopped broadcasting on the Munich cable frequency in the network of Kabel Deutschland in April 2007 and in the network of KMS in September 2007.

Baden-Württemberg On February 15, 2007, the transmitter expanded its coverage area to include the DAB coverage area in the local ensemble Stuttgart Block LB (L-Band) as part of a trial operation and was wirelessly received for the first time. Two months later on April 13, 2007, analogue and digital distribution in the KabelBW cable network was started in the course of a test operation. The analogue VHF cable frequency 99.2 MHz and nationwide digital DVB-C 738 MHz (channel 54) were used. After the end of the trial period, the broadcaster and KabelBW did not agree on the feed-in fees to be paid, so that broadcasting was stopped again in October 2007. The station stopped broadcasting via DAB at the end of April 2007.

North Rhine-Westphalia On March 6, 2007, the distribution area was extended to Bielefeld and the OWL district in the cable network of ish (today: Unity Media) with 338,000 households. Distribution in the Unity Media cable network was stopped at the end of December 2007.

satellite

On September 5, 2007, the station started its Europe-wide broadcasting via the Eutelsat Hotbird satellite. At the beginning of February 2008, broadcasting via satellite was stopped again.

The satellite broadcast via Eutelsat was mainly used to distribute the broadcast signal to the cable network operator. After satellite broadcasting via Eutelsat Hotbird was discontinued, due to licensing problems with regard to satellite broadcasting, only a few cable frequencies were used, the transmission of which was wired.

The transmitter could be received in different cities, such as in the cable network of Wilhelm.tel and Willi.tel in Hamburg , Norderstedt and Henstedt-Ulzburg .

Relaunch and restart

On 25 September 2012, the safety for the renaming was Power 104 by the State Institute of Communication confirmed (LFK), so that radioactive-FM could go on the air again.

Radio Aktiv-FM took over the broadcasting slot of Power 104 on September 25, 2012 and has been broadcasting since then at the orbital position 19.2 ° East on transponder 113. The Power 104 project has been discontinued.

The operator and licensee is now Radio Aktiv-FM Ltd. & Co. KG, which emerged from Power 104 Ltd. & Co. KG emerged. The license was granted on November 23, 2011 based on the ZAK resolution of November 22, 2011 by the State Office for Communication.
