Energy Stuttgart (alternative spelling NRJ) is a private radio broadcaster for the Stuttgart region based in Ludwigsburg . The station emerged from RMB radio in July 2001 . It is part of the NRJ Group and broadcasts a youth program whose core target group is 14 to 29 year olds.
history
From 1988 to 2001 the Waibling private broadcaster Rems-Murr-Bürgerradio (RMB) was on air on changing frequencies in the Stuttgart area. In 2001, the NRJ Group entered the company with a 20 percent stake, which was followed by reformatting according to the Energy format and renaming to "Energy Region Stuttgart". However, the program remained musically tailored to an older target group for a longer time than the rest of the Energy stations in Germany.
As part of the new licensing period 2003-2010 of the State Office for Communication Baden-Württemberg, Energy Stuttgart received the license for the transmission area L13 (northern Stuttgart region) and at the same time a new high-performance frequency with 20 kW transmission power (100.7 MHz telecommunications tower Cleebronn ), which can be received in large parts of the Stuttgart region.
In August 2004 the Weng family sold their remaining 79.6% of the station to the NRJ Group. In November 2005, the NRJ Group also bought the neighboring regional broadcaster R.TV Radio from Böblingen. Energy Region Stuttgart has also been broadcasting on the old R.TV radio frequencies since January 2006.
From May 2008 to September 2016, Energy Region Stuttgart broadcast from the Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt fort . Since October 2016 the broadcast from Ludwigsburg.
