Energy Sachsen is a private radio broadcaster , licensed on January 14, 1993 by the Saxon State Agency for Private Broadcasting and New Media , for the conurbations of Leipzig / Halle , Dresden , Oberlausitz , Chemnitz / Zwickau . A full 24-hour program for 14 to 29 year olds is produced and broadcast from Leipzig .

history

The station was set up in 1993 by Gerhard Pötzsch as managing partner.

Energy Sachsen started broadcasting on June 21, 1993. The founding shareholders were writers, musicians (members of the pop band Die Prinzen , the manager of BAP ), artists and other creative people. The licensor for the corporate design (name, logo ...) is still the French NRJ Group . In the first five years, an urban youth radio with interactive special-interest programs (“Kommunikation und Krach”, “Nur Deutsch”, “1000 Watt”) was hosted on the frequencies. Newcomers, hip-hop, punk, metal and current pop music alternated with moderation, news, studio guests and local greats as guest moderators. Six hours a day were broadcast locally in Chemnitz, Dresden and Zwickau, with own moderators and programs. However, this concept turned out to be too financially costly. The failure to report Energy Sachsen in the media analysis (ma) also posed a problem - the advertising times were difficult to market without a reported audience rating. Business considerations prompted the shareholders to gradually format the station as a CHR (Contemporary Hit Radio) station. The music rotation became tighter, the local windows were regionalized, programs were redesigned and switched through.

After the first listing in the media analysis on April 1, 1998 (51,000 listeners per hour), the broadcasting chain became increasingly commercially successful. In 2000 there was a relaunch with “The Big Change”. The focus was on the morning show (morning show) "Knallwach" with Freddy, which ran for almost 10 years. In August 2009 and August 2012 the program scheme was changed extensively.

Frank Otto Medienbeteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG and the NRJ Group are the main shareholders today .

program

Energy Sachsen broadcasts news every hour on weekdays from 5 a.m., and every half hour in the morning show. Regional news will be integrated from 12 noon. This is followed by weather and traffic reports for Saxony and neighboring areas. In moderated hours, the event information What is going ?, Der Energy Sachsen Cityguide is sent before the news . Like the regional news , these are divided into three regions: Leipzig, Dresden and Lausitz, Chemnitz and Zwickau.
