Radio free FM has been on the air since June 17, 1995 as a non-commercial local radio based in Ulm in the heart of the city center. The transmission area extends over the Ulm / Neu-Ulm region . The transmitter is broadcast via VHF on the frequency 102.60 MHz with 1 kW transmission power and fed into several cable networks in the region.
Radio free FM is a free radio and a member of the Federal Association of Free Radios .
organization
The editorial and support association form the legal framework for Radio free FM. These two registered non-profit associations are shareholders of Radio free FM non-profit GmbH ; this is the holder of the radio license. A program council elected by all editors, the so-called G7, decides on program guidelines and structure . A broadcast slot is assigned to each of the various editorial offices. Within the editorial team, the editors agree on the content of their programs and thus design the program. Organizational work is done by editors , moderators and doers together in teams. Decisions are made by the so-called jour fixe ; This is composed of representatives of the music and speech editors, the teams, the boards of the two associations and the managing director of the non-profit GmbH. The station is supported by an advisory board made up of public figures.
