history
Established as an internet radio
Antenna 50Plus was founded in 2000 by Reinhard Müller in Nuremberg as an internet radio . Musically, the radio broadcaster is mainly aimed at the older audience. The broadcasting was up to November year? operated exclusively as web radio.
In June 2011, the antenna 50Plus Ltd. & Co. KG, whose sole shareholder is Reinhard Müller, and in July 2011 submitted a license application to the State Office for Communication (LFK).
Licensing
On November 22nd, 2011, the station was approved nationwide for a period of eight years by the LFK Baden-Württemberg by resolution of the Commission for Approval and Supervision (ZAK) of November 22, 2011. The license holder for the Antenne 50Plus program is Antenne 50Plus Ltd. & Co. KG.
Satellite broadcasting
The station can also be received free-to- air via the Intelsat 20 satellite at orbital position 68.5 ° E on transponder 25k and the frequency 12522 MHz in the Satelio package. Antenne 50Plus is also represented in Telekom's T-Home Entertain package. Until February 25, 2013, the station was also represented on the Astra 1L satellite on the 113 transponder and the 12633 MHz frequency, as well as in a test broadcast on the Eutelsat 9 ° E satellite.
DAB + Hessen
On July 2, 2012, the station went on air on DAB + in Hesse in VHF frequency block 12C. Technically, about 3.5 million people can be reached over an area of 6068 km². On August 1, 2012, the VHF channel III was converted to the 11C, which was accompanied by an increase in the power of the transmitter from 1 kW to 2 kW. Channel 12C was taken offline after the changeover. On December 4, 2012, the antenna 50Plus in the DAB Bonquet 11C was switched off again. According to information from the Bonquet operator Hessen Digital Radio, the reason is the failure to meet claims against the network operator.

The transmitter was integrated into the Antenne 50Plus Ltd. on June 9, 2011. & Co. KG outsourced. The sole shareholder of the general partner and the limited partnership ( limited partner ) is Reinhard Müller. Antenne 50Plus is listed in the list of organizers of the State Office for Communication (LFK), State Office for Communication Radio List (LFK) and Bavarian State Center for New Media (BLM). The Hessian State Authority for Private Broadcasting and New Media decided in its meeting on March 26, 2012 to allocate the antenna 50Plus. This means that the transmitter can in future be supplied terrestrially via the transmitter locations in Frankfurt / Main and Großer Feldberg / Taunus with 5 kW transmission power each.
