Satelio is a pay-TV service for German-language television in southern Africa (primarily Namibia , under the sales name Deukom also in South Africa ), in other African countries (since October 1, 2015, Nigeria ) and the Middle East. Satelio is provided by "Deutscher Televisionsklub Betriebs GmbH" based in Ismaning .
Technology and legal
Satelio broadcast German-language television and radio on Amos 5 (from December 2, 2013 to early June 2014 via Intelsat 20 ). Due to the failure of Amos 5 since November 21, 2015, the move to SES Astra 4A was announced on November 23, 2015 and completed on November 24, 2015.
In Namibia the broadcast took place under the general broadcasting license of Hitradio Namibia until November 30, 2017 , before Satelio Television (Namibia) (Pty) Ltd. took over the broadcast with its own license on December 1, 2017. In Nigeria it is broadcast under license from ACTV .

The five English-language sports programs offered in cooperation with the South African StarSat are subject to a surcharge. With this sports package, Satelio offers, among other things, the broadcast of Bundesliga soccer games .
In addition, Satelio provides free-to-air channels on the slots 34 to 46 on the satellite.
