Kabel Eins Doku (own spelling: Kabel Eins Doku ) is a German private television broadcaster owned by ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE . The station is an offshoot of kabel eins and went on air on September 22, 2016. The broadcaster focuses entirely on documentaries and reports and can be seen on free TV .

According to the broadcaster's boss Thorsten Pütsch, the program is "clearly timed" and consists only of documentaries and reports focusing on history, "true crime", and nature and technology. The transmission schedule for prime time is as follows:

• Monday: reports
• Tuesday: Documentaries on the topic of "Space, Aliens and Inexplicable Phenomena"
• Wednesday: Articles from the field of "True Crime" or "Real Crime" under the topic of "Perpetrators and Victims"
• Thursday: Reporter stories on the topic of "Myths and Legends"
• Friday: History Docs
• Saturday: Articles under the topic "Power and Powers"
• Sunday: Contributions under the topic "Disasters and Fates"

Documentation is already being broadcast on numerous other German-language television channels in public law (e.g. Phoenix ), as well as in private free TV (e.g. N24 , n-tv ) and on pay TV (e.g. Discovery Channel ) shown. kabel eins Doku , however, was supposed to become the first pure documentary broadcaster on free-to-air television in Germany, which is not the case due to the early launch of the competing broadcaster N24 Doku . The target group for most of the documentaries are men aged 40 to 64. This target group currently sees mainly public service programs and represents a gap in ProSiebenSat.1's portfolio. Kabel eins Doku would like to win this advertising market . In addition, women are also targeted on Wednesdays with the articles from the “True Crime” section.
