prehistory
Pakistan previously did a tour in Sri Lanka , Australia in England . The last tour of the two teams against each other took place in the 2010 season in the United Arab Emirates . For both teams, the tour was a preparation for the ICC World Twenty20 2012 which will then take place in Sri Lanka . Australia originally had reservations about hosting ODIs in the United Arab Emirates in August. It was planned to play six Twenty20 instead. However, for commercial reasons, Pakistan was determined to play three ODIs in media exploitation, which resulted in the final program.
