The tour of the Australian national cricket team to Sri Lanka in the 1982/83 season took place from 13 to 26 April 1983. The international cricket tour was part of the 1982/83 international cricket season and included a test and four ODIs . Australia won the Test series 0-1, while Sri Lanka won the ODI series 2-0.
prehistory
Sri Lanka previously played a tour in New Zealand , Australia an ODI against New Zealand . It was the first time the two teams had met on a tour since Sri Lanka became a full member of the International Cricket Council . Previous meetings mostly took place on trips to or from England, the last time on the tour in 1981 .
