New Zealand national cricket team in Sri Lanka for the 2019 season
The New Zealand national cricket team tour to Sri Lanka in the 2019 season took place from August 14th to September 6th, 2019. The international cricket tour was part of the 2019 international cricket season and included two tests and three Twenty20s . The tests were the first games of both teams within the ICC World Test Championship 2019-2021 . The Test series ended in a 1-1 draw, while New Zealand won the ODI series 2-1.
prehistory
Sri Lanka previously played a tour against Bangladesh , New Zealand at the 2019 Cricket World Cup in which it reached the final, while Sri Lanka was eliminated in the preliminary round. The last meeting of the two teams took place in New Zealand in the 2018/19 season .
