from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tour of the New Zealand national cricket team to Australia in the 2001/02 season took place from October 16 to November 30, 2001. The international cricket tour was part of the 2001/02 international cricket season and included three test matches . The test series ended 0-0.

prehistory

It was the first tour of the season for both teams. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1999/2000 season in New Zealand . After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 in the USA , the previously planned tour of New Zealand against Pakistan was canceled for security reasons. New Zealand was therefore aiming for more games in Australia, which Australia also promised after the final cancellation of the tour in Pakistan.
