New Zealand national cricket team in England in the 2008 season
The tour of New Zealand Cricket Team to England in the 2008 season took place from April 27 to July 3 of 2008. The international cricket tour was part of the 2008 international cricket season and included three test matches , one Twenty20 and five ODIs . England won the Test series 2-0 and the Twenty20, while New Zealand won the ODI series 3-1. England's victory in the test series placed the team in third place in the ICC Test Championship .
prehistory
The tour was planned in view of the fact that it should serve as preparation for the planned ICC Champions Trophy in the same year, which, however, was not held until a year later . The newly emerging Indian Premier League ensured that with the early start of the preparation of the tour, some New Zealand players were not available for the tour matches.
