from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2016 season tour of the Pakistani national cricket team to England took place from July 14th to September 7th, 2016. The international cricket tour was part of the 2016 international cricket season and included four tests and five ODIs and one Twenty20 . England won the ODI series 4–1, Pakistan the Twenty20 series 1–0 and the Test series ended 2–2 in a draw.

prehistory

England previously played a tour against Sri Lanka , for Pakistan it was the first tour of the season. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 2011/12 season in the United Arab Emirates . The nomination of the Pakistani bowler Mohammad Amir caused a sensation , who last tested a test on the Tour of Pakistan in England in 2010 and was banned there for five years due to spot fixing . At first there were doubts whether he would receive a visa because of the prison sentence that was subsequently imposed, but this was approved at the urging of the English association ECB .
