The tour of the Pakistani national cricket team to New Zealand in the 1978/79 season took place from February 2 to February 28, 1979. The international cricket tour was part of the 1978/79 international cricket season and included three tests . Pakistan won the series 1–0.

Pakistan previously played a tour against India , for New Zealand it was the first tour of the season. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1976/77 season in Pakistan .
