South African national cricket team in New Zealand in the 2016/17 season
The tour of the South African national cricket team to New Zealand in the 2016/17 season took place from February 17 to March 29, 2017. The international cricket tour was part of the 2016/17 international cricket season and included three tests , five ODIs and one Twenty20 . South Africa won the ODI series 3–2 and the Test and Twenty20 series 1–0 each.
prehistory
New Zealand previously played a tour in Australia , South Africa against Sri Lanka . The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 2016 season in South Africa , in which South Africa won the test series 1–0. The fourth ODI was originally planned in Napier after the second ODI had to be canceled on the previous Australian tour due to poor space. Instead, the ODI took place in Hamilton .
