The Sri Lankan national cricket team tour to New Zealand in the 2000/01 season took place from January 28 to February 11, 2001. The international cricket tour was part of the 2000/01 international cricket season and included five ODIs . Sri Lanka won the ODI series 4-1.

prehistory

New Zealand previously played a tour against Zimbabwe , Sri Lanka a tour in South Africa . The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1998 season in Sri Lanka .
