The tour of the Sri Lankan national cricket team to Australia in the season 1989/90 took place from 8 to 20 December 1989. The international cricket tour was part of the 1989/90 international cricket season and included two tests . Australia won the series 1–0.

prehistory

Australia previously played a Test against New Zealand and Sri Lanka a six-nation tournament in India. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1987/88 season in Australia .
