The tour of the English national cricket team to Australia in the 1876/77 season took place from March 15 to April 4, 1877. The international cricket tour was part of the 1876/77 international cricket season and included two tests . The series ended 1-1 in a draw. It included the first game that was classified as a test match.

prehistory

It was the first tour of the season for both teams. It was the first tour in which individual games were subsequently classified as test matches. Previously, individual tours were held. England carried out individual tours in Australia since 1861 and with a representation from Aborigines in 1868 this was the first time an Australian team did this in England.
