The tour of the Indian national cricket team to Australia in the 1980/81 season took place from January 28 to February 11, 1981. The international cricket tour was part of the 1980/81 international cricket season and included three tests . The series ended 1-1 in a draw.

Both teams previously played a three-nation tournament with New Zealand . The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1979/80 season in India .
