Indian national cricket team in South Africa in the 2010/11 season

The tour of the Indian national cricket team to South Africa in the 2010/11 season took place from December 16, 2010 to January 23, 2011. The international cricket tour was part of the 2010/11 international cricket season and included three test matches , one Twenty20 and five ODIs . The test series ended 1-1, the ODI series was won by South Africa 3-2 and the Twenty20 by India.

prehistory

classification

The tour was dominated by the immediately following Cricket World Cup 2011 , in which the two teams were group opponents in the preliminary round. South Africa previously played a tour against Pakistan , Australia against England . The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in India in the 2009/10 season .

venue

In order to attract more spectators, the traditional Sahara Stadium Kingsmead was not used for the Twenty20 game , but the Moses Mabhida Stadium , which is otherwise used as a football stadium .

Decision Review System

South Africa advocated the use of the optional Decision Review System , with which the referees have the opportunity to analyze balls with electronic help in retrospect in order to revise any decisions. However, India rejected this and so it was not used.
