The tour of the Australian national cricket team to South Africa in the 2005/06 season took place from February 24 to April 4, 2006. The international cricket tour was part of the 2005/06 international cricket season and included three tests , five ODIs and one Twenty20 . Australia won the Test Series 3–0 while South Africa won the ODI Series 3–2 and the Twenty20 Series 1–0.

prehistory

Both teams previously played a three-nation tournament with Sri Lanka . The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place earlier in the season in Australia .
