from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Australian national cricket team's tour to Bangladesh in the 2017 season took place from August 28 to September 6, 2017. The international cricket tour was part of the 2017 international cricket season and included two tests . The series ended 1-1 in a draw.

prehistory

Both teams previously played in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy , with Australia failing in the preliminary round and Bangladesh in the semi-finals. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 2011 season in Bangladesh . Originally it was planned that Australia would hold a tour in Bangladesh in the 2015/16 season, but this was rejected by Australia due to safety concerns. Before the tour took place, there was a long-running dispute between the Australian players and the association about their payment. The dispute is about a new contract after which the old one expired on July 1st and there was no agreement for a long time about the profit sharing of the players in the tours. On August 3, 2017, it was announced that the players' union and association have basically approved new contractual arrangements and that the tour will be able to take place.
