Ashes Tour 1896

The Ashes Tour 1896 was the tour of the Australian national cricket team that included the 12th edition of the Ashes , and was held between June 14th and August 12th, 1896. The international cricket tour was part of the 1896 international cricket season and included five test matches . Australia won the series 2–1.

It was the first tour of the season for both teams. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the season 1894/95 in Australia .
