England wins with 113 runs |
The West Indies won the coin toss and decided to start as a field team. Before the game, it was announced that Jofra Archer could not be used because he had violated the quarantine rules while traveling from Southampton. The game started 90 minutes late due to visibility conditions. England played cautious at first and lost in the 13th over Rory Burns and Zak Crawley within two balls. When captain Joe Root was removed by a ball from Alzarri Joseph in the 31st over with a score of 81/3, Ben Stokes came on field. Together with Dom Sibley, he managed to build a 126-run partnership by the evening and thus ended the day for England with 207/3 after 82 overs. On the second day the two continued to play at a very calm pace and were able to achieve a partnership of 260 runs until Sibley fell after 120 runs. Stokes continued his game and was able to score 176 runs. In the evening England finished their innings at 469/9 and were in control. Best West Indian bowler was Roston Chase with 5 wickets for 172 runs. The West Indies answer ended the second day with 32/1, with bowler Joseph serving as Nightwatchman after John Campbell's departure. The third day ended with a wash out when the rain did not allow the two teams to play. On the fourth day Kraigg Brathwaite was able to achieve a half-century with 75 runs. He was followed by Shamarh Brooks (68 runs) and Roston Chase (51 runs), who also succeeded. However, the latter was no longer supported by the Lower Order, as the last five players of the West Indies could only achieve seven runs. The innings ended with 287 runs after 99 overs, which was enough for the West Indies to avoid the follow-on. The best English bowlers were Stuart Broad (3 wickets for 66 runs) and Chris Woakes (3 wickets for 42 runs). In the English answer, England quickly tried to get a high runout. However, Kemar Roach managed two early wickets. The day ended at 37/2 after 8 overs. On the last day Ben Stokes was able to achieve a fifty with 78 runs and England declared after one hour with a score of 129/3 with a lead of 312 runs. The West Indies suffered fast wickets and by lunch it was already 25/3. After that, hope grew again when Brooks (62 runs) and Jermaine Blackwood (55 runs) earned a 100 run partnership within their fifties. Other West Indies players couldn't save the game over time and so the last wicket fell after 70.1 overs with 198 runs for the West Indies and a loss of 113 runs against the English. The Englishmen's best bowler was Broad, who scored 3 wickets for 42 runs. Ben Stokes was chosen as the player of the match.

England wins with 269 runs |
The starting point for the final third test was that a draw would be enough for the West Indies to win the Wisden Trophy, while England needed a win. The West Indies won the coin toss and decided to start as a field team. England started with Rory Burns who scored a fifty with 57 runs. When he lost his wicket at the stand of 122/4, it was Jos Butler and Ollie Pope who ended the evening with a partnership of 136 runs and thus gave England a good starting position with a stand of 258/4. That changed at the beginning of the second day when Pope (91 runs) and Butler (67 runs) lost their wicket in quick succession and the West Indies scored 4 wickets for just 18 runs. Then it was Stuart Broad, who made 62 runs in 45 balls, leading England to a 369 after 11.5 overs. The best bowler in the West Indies was Kemar Roach, who scored four wickets for 72 runs. The West Indies got off to a difficult start in their innings. Kraigg Brathwaite lost his innings in the second over and his teammates had a difficult time against the four Fast Bowlers Anderson, Archer, Broad and Woakes. The West Indies continued to lose wickets and ended the day, which was ended prematurely due to poor lighting conditions. at the status of 137/6. On the third day, the West Indies needed 33 runs to prevent the follow-on. Acher and Woakes opened bowling, but especially Jason Holder couldn't stop it. It was Stuart Broad who, after taking over bowling with Anderson, knocked Holder out on 46 runs with leg-before-wicket and also scored the remaining wickets. He was able to achieve a total of 6 wickets for 31 runs and the West Indies were 172 runs behind at the innings change. The English answer started with Rory Burns and Dom Sibley, who together achieved an opening partnership of 114 runs. When Sibley was eliminated with 56 runs Burns continued the game along with captain Joe Root. Together they achieved 112 runs in 6.5 overs. When Burns was eliminated with 90 runs, Root, who himself stood at 68 runs, declared the declaration when the score was 226/2. This brought back the West Indies who lost 2 wickets in their 6 overs in the evening. The third day ended at the status of 10/2. The fourth day could not be contested due to persistent rain. With the Kraigg Brathwaite wicket, the first of the fifth day, Stuart Broad became the seventh player to score his 500th career test wicket. In the further course, the West Indies did not manage to establish a player on the beat. The best batsman was Shai Hope with 31 runs and so the West Indies lost their last wicket after 129 runs and 37.1 overs. Responsible for this was mainly Chris Woakes, who scored a total of 5 wickets for 50 runs. He found support with Stuart Broad with 4 wickets for 36 runs, who was voted Man of the Match for his achievements.
