West Indies cricket team in India in the 1987/88 season
The West Indies cricket team's tour to India in the 1987/88 season took place from November 25, 1987 to January 25, 1988. The international cricket tour was part of the 1987/88 international cricket season and included four tests and seven ODIs . The West Indies won the ODI series 6–1, while the test series 1–1 ended in a draw.
prehistory
Both teams previously played at the 1987 Cricket World Cup , in which the West Indies failed in the group stage and India reached the semifinals. The last meeting of the two teams took place in the 1983/84 season in India .

The status of the match has long been controversial. India wanted this to become part of the ODI series, the West Indies rejected it. Ultimately, it got ODI status but was not considered part of the series.
