West Indies cricket team in England in the 2009 season
The West Indies cricket team's 2009 tour to England took place May 6-26. The international cricket tour was part of the 2009 international cricket season and included two test matches and three ODIs . England won both the Test series and the ODI series 2-0.
prehistory
Originally a tour against Zimbabwe for England was planned for this period . However, as the British government severed diplomatic ties with this country, the tour was canceled. A tour against Sri Lanka was then planned as a replacement, but their players preferred to play in the Indian Premier League 2009 . The West Indies, who were ultimately presented as replacements, last played at home against England in February of that year.
