ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2009
The ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2009 was the qualifying tournament for the Cricket World Cup 2011 , which was held from April 1st to 19th, 2009 in South Africa . It was also the ninth qualifying tournament that was held for a world championship. In the final, Ireland beat Canada with 9 wickets . In addition to these two teams, Kenya and the Netherlands were able to qualify for the final tournament.

In the preliminary round, the teams were divided into two groups, each with six teams. The first four of each group then qualified for the Super Eight, where each team still played against the four teams from the other group and took over the results from the preliminary round against the teams qualified there in this round. The first four of this group received ODI status for four years and qualified alongside the 2011 Cricket World Cup for the ICC Intercontinental Cup 2009-2010 . The fifth and sixth places in the Super Eight also received ODI status for four years and also qualified for the Intercontinental Cup. Placement games were then played, with the first and second placed the final, the third and fourth placed played for third place. etc. Also the teams that were eliminated in the preliminary round played a placement round to clarify their participation in the future divisions of the World Cricket League and the ICC Intercontinental Shield 2009-2010. A total of 54 games were played.
