ICC World Cricket League Division Three 2009
The ICC World Cricket League Division Three 2009 was the second edition of this one-day cricket competition and took place between January 24 and 31, 2009 in Argentina . The competition was part of the ICC World Cricket League 2007-09 . It also served as a qualifier for the 2009 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier . Afghanistan won the division and qualified together with Uganda for the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2009 in South Africa.

A total of 6 teams took part in the tournament. The two relegated members of the ICC World Cricket League Division Two 2007 qualified :

format
In a group stage, each team played against each other. The winner of a game received two points, and a tie or no result received one point. The first two of the group qualify for the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2009 and should contest a final. Since two games from the last round of the preliminary round had to be repeated, the placement games were canceled. The third and fourth placed remain in Division Three and play in the 2011 ICC World Cricket League Division Three . The fifth and sixth placed were relegated to Division Four and participated in the 2010 ICC World Cricket League Division Four .
