Ashes Tour 2009

The Ashes Tour 2009 was the tour of the Australian national cricket team that included the 65th edition of the Ashes and was held between June 1 and September 20, 2009. The Ashes Series 2009 itself was played in the form of five test matches between England and Australia. The venues were both English stadiums. The tour, which was part of the 2009 international cricket season , included the test series and a number of other games between the two teams in the summer of 2009. England won the test series 2-1 and Australia won the ODI series 6-1 and the Twenty20 series ended in a draw.

prehistory

Both teams contested in advance the ICC World Twenty20 2009 , in which Australia were eliminated in the preliminary round and England in the Super 8 round. Before that, Australia did a tour in the United Arab Emirates against Pakistan and England had the West Indies touring . Cardiff made its debut as a test stadium in the 1st Test.
